Updates
My survey has gone 'live' and over 500 completed reponses so far and about 700 incomplete registered. Issues have been raised regarding the initial page of the survey with a number of students failing to progress further. Reasons for this need to be looked at!
A quick update on the project I completed for Planning Department. The results were used as a discussion paper for the UWS executive management committee on their "away day". Informal feedback suggests that it was very constructive and well received.
The first meeting of the new research student representatives was well attended with thoughts and ideas in abundance! Looking forward to see how this will develop over the next few months.
SAUWS student conference began well however I had to leave midway because my husband had been involved in a car accident (fortunately injuries not too severe but worrying all the same). I think there will be changes ahead for SAUWS in the future.
I attended the Student Experience Group seminar and was heartened to see that resources had been made available (to some schools) in order to examine and improve the students' experiences at UWS. Also glad to see that other schools were using their own limited resources to improve this as well.
Finally, I have registered my interest in becoming a student representative on the Ethics Commirttee and feel it will be useful to get an insight into this (often complicated) process.
